Ozark Forest Mushrooms

St. Louis, MO (formerly Timber, MO) | Specialty Mushrooms & Market Add-Ons

When it comes to mushrooms with a story, Ozark Forest Mushrooms offers more than flavor—they bring three decades of sustainable cultivation, forest stewardship, and family-run integrity to every shiitake, lion’s mane, and oyster they grow.

Though now based in St. Louis, Ozark Forest Mushrooms began their journey deep in the wild beauty of the Southern Missouri Ozarks, on a 500-acre property nestled along Sinking Creek. There, in a shaded, humid microclimate beneath a thriving oak and hickory forest, they discovered the perfect conditions for cultivating shiitake mushrooms on oak logs—a practice they’ve refined and scaled to over 25,000 logs using a blend of traditional Japanese methods and Ozark ingenuity.

Their commitment to sustainability runs deep. Through careful forest management, Ozark Forest Mushrooms harvests oak for mushroom cultivation without contributing to deforestation—maintaining ecological balance while providing a renewable, local resource.

At InterRooted, we rely on them not just for fresh mushrooms, but also for many of our most-loved Market Add-Ons, including:

  • Shiitake Mushroom Soy Sauce

  • Dried Lion’s Mane Powder

  • Mushroom Spice Rub

  • Oyster Mushroom Jerky

  • Hot Green Pepper Sauce

Whether it’s a tender pint of mushrooms or a handcrafted pantry item, everything Ozark Forest Mushrooms produces reflects their love of the land, their care for quality, and their long-standing dedication to ecological farming. We're proud to bring their incredible offerings to your harvest bag.
